Fred Marin, make-up artist, began his artistic life as a professional dancer.
The love of make-up came to him on stage, until he met make-up artist Christophe Danchaud. Christophe is the first to acknowledge Frédéric’s passion and determination for makeup and becomes his Pygmalion. He offers Frédéric to assist him on the making of the commercial for Chanel ‘Coco Mademoiselle’. Then opens the doors of cinema for him by introducing him to Marion Cotillard. She later gives him his first job as a head make-up artist on Karim Dridi’s film: ‘Le dernier vol’.
Fred then becomes head makeup artist for Vanessa Paradis’s ‘Divine Idylle’ tour. He also starts to collaborate with the photographer Claude Gassian.
His encounter with Vanessa seals a collaboration for movies, concerts and promo: ‘L’Arnaqueur’, ‘Café de Flore’ for which Frédéric wins a ‘Genius Award’, ‘Cornouailles’, the ‘Acoustic Tour’ in 2011 and the Toronto film festival...
Audrey Tautou takes him to Tokyo, Los Angeles, Montreal, Moscow and New York to promote her movies ‘Coco avant Chanel’ in 2010 and ‘La Délicatesse’ in 2012.
The new face of Dior, Mélanie Laurent also entrusts Frédéric with her image. Together, they make films and fashion photos published in Numero, Elle, Glamour, Marie Claire, Madame Figaro, Grazia.
Since 2008, Frédéric is part of make-up artists teams for the Cannes Film Festival.
For the ‘Red Carpet’ in Cannes, he makes up: Virginie Efira, Nathalie Baye, Michelle Yeoh, Mélanie Laurent, Malgosia Bela, Aurélie Dupont, Fanny Ardant, Valérie Lemercier, Elsa Zylberstein, Virginia Dean, Laura Morente, Ludivine Sagnier, Élodie Bouchez, Marina Hands, Anaïs Demoustier.
